Job Title: Indoor E911 Field Technician
Duration of the project: 12 months
Location: Atlanta, GA
As a Telecommunication Test Technician, you will have a strong background in telecommunications technology and will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining telecommunications equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Your role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining the networks that enable communication services. Here are some key aspects of your job:
Conduct testing: Perform Indoor walk testing. Perform testing and evaluation of telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, antennas, and transmission equipment, using appropriate testing methodologies and tools. Conduct walk or drive tests using specialized equipment and software to evaluate and measure telecommunications network coverage, performance, and quality. Identify coverage gaps, dead zones, interference issues, and other network anomalies during drive tests.
Quality assurance: Execute functional tests, performance tests, and acceptance tests to ensure compliance with technical specifications and standards.
Support field optimization: Work in the field to capture network performance by testing reporting items such as power levels, availability, coverage, throughput and other parameters based on test objectives.
Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose equipment faults and technical issues using troubleshooting techniques and diagnostic tools.
Data analysis: Analyze test results, interpret performance metrics, and generate comprehensive reports documenting findings and recommendations. Collect and analyze drive test data, including signal strength, throughput, handover performance, and network parameters (e.g., SINR, RSRP, RSRQ).
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of testing procedures, results, and equipment configurations. Maintain accurate records of drive test routes, test conditions, equipment configurations, and data analysis
Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers, network planners, and project managers to resolve issues, implement solutions, and ensure quality assurance throughout the network deployment process.
Equipment configuration and calibration: Serve as the primary field test SME to include test methodology best practices, configuring and calibrating testing equipment and tools to ensure accurate measurement and testing results and assist other testers in troubleshooting if necessary.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols, traffic laws, regulatory requirements, and company policies during testing activities.
Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency enhancement, and cost reduction in testing procedures
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or an associate degree or certification in electronics, telecommunications, or a related field.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in using telecommunications testing equipment and tools, such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, and oscilloscopes.
- Knowledge of telecommunications: Understanding of telecommunications systems, equipment, and components, including routers, switches, antennas, transmission lines, and wireless technologies (e.g., LTE, 5G).
- Testing and troubleshooting: Experience in conducting various types of tests, including functional tests, performance tests, and acceptance tests. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment faults and technical issues effectively.
- Data analysis: Skills in analyzing test results, interpreting performance metrics, and preparing comprehensive reports documenting findings and recommendations.
- Safety and compliance: Knowledge of safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and industry standards related to telecommunications testing activities.
- Attention to detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate testing procedures, data collection, and documentation.
- Communication skills: Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with team members, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Problem-solving abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues, implement solutions, and ensure the quality and reliability of telecommunications equipment and systems.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, project managers, and technicians, to achieve testing objectives and project goals.
- Certifications: Optional certifications, such as Certified Telecommunications Network Specialist (CTNS) or similar, may be beneficial and demonstrate proficiency in telecommunications testing and technology.
- Working conditions: Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
- Ability to travel and work in the field is needed.
